Blood River

Yesterday unfortunately
I finished to read “Blood River” a Tim Butcher’s book. In his book the Daily
Telegraph’s journalist tell about his trip by motorbike and ferry through the
Democratic Republic of Congo in 2004. He decides to try afterwards more than
130 years the Stanley’s trip across the Black Africa. It is a long trip from Kalemie
(the former Albertville-Tanganyika Lake) to Boma the city where the big Congo
River flows into the Atlantic Ocean but above all through the blood history of
one of the most forgotten part of Africa where “the normal rules of development
simply are not allowed”.  It’s a really
adventurous and dramatic trip that is difficult to leave before sleeping.   It’s a month that I’m in Congo and also from
Kinshasa we can live the centrality of the Big River in our life, below some
photos:

Now I’m starting “Grand
River, un viaggio” the last book by Wu Ming…. From Congo to Canada….by
ferryboat!
